ASNAdvance Shipment Notice — a document notifying the WMS of an upcoming delivery.
GRNGoods Receipt Note — a printed document confirming goods have been received.
LPNLicense Plate Number — a unique barcode label on a pallet or container.
LottablesProduct-specific attributes captured at receiving — e.g. Batch Number, MFG Date, Expiry Date.
PutawayMoving received goods from the dock to a storage location.
ReceiptThe WMS record of a physical delivery. Always linked to one or more ASNs.
StorerThe client or owner of the inventory being received.
UOMUnit of Measure — e.g. QTY, KG, CASE, PALLET.
Inventory StateThe condition of inventory — e.g. NORMAL, DAMAGED, QUARANTINE, HOLD.
Cross DockInbound goods bypass storage and are directly allocated to outbound orders.
Blind ReceivingOrdered quantities are hidden from the operator to ensure unbiased counting.
Short CloseClosing a receipt when not all ordered goods have arrived.
WaveA group of PICKING orders assigned to pickers in a single planning cycle.
Pick & PackSimultaneous picking and packing into cartons as items are collected.
KittingAssembly of multiple component items into a single kit product.
